RMS Art Happenings
Getty Art Museum Challenge
Recent school years have presented many challenges for art educators across the world. RMS students proved their creative powers would not be thwarted by the limitations of remote learning. Here are some great pictures of our students answering the creative challenge put out by Getty Art Museum to recreate famous artworks using stuff around the house. As the remote learning results poured in, they brought me to tears of laughter and inspiration. Proud of these kids! Enjoy!
Collaborative Wings Mural
6th Grade students learned about color theory, collaborative art making, and big inspirational artworks as they each made a feather for this giant rainbow wings mural inspired by artist, Kelsey Montague.
Art Class Mannequin Challenge
7th hour art students collaborated through theme development, prop-making, and carefully planned choreography to create their very own mannequin challenge. A super fun impromptu project featuring some special staff cameos.

First Annual RMS Pumpkin Carving Workshop
Thanks to Blackmer Farms in Cherry Valley for the pumpkins for this fun event. Wish I had more pictures to share, but my hands were full of pumpkin guts! Proud of these kids!
Rockford Art Museum Artists
Congratulations to these talented art students whose artworks were chosen to be exhibited in the 75th Young Artist Exhibit at the Rockford Art Museum. RMS rocks! Congrats, BRAVES!
