Human Figure Sculptures
7th grade art students studied proportions of the human body to create these awesome plaster sculptures. Proportionate wire armatures were created , then the figures were "fleshed out" with foil and tape and bent into dynamic poses. Layers of plaster and metallic paint were added for a cast bronze effect. Very impressive results!

Oil Pastel Pet Portraits
Art students practiced drawing and oil pastel techniques while learning about social issues in our community. Each student chose a cat or dog image to reproduce in a large format. These artworks were made to represent the plight of shelter animals in our area, and to allow students to express what their own pets meant to each of them. Noah's Ark Animal Sanctuary was kind enough to let us display some of our artworks along with some 7th grade works at their downtown location for folks to view during Fall Art Scene. A heartfelt project for sure.
